XXX domain is the new and the only TLD dedicated to adult industry. Sunrise-AT period
is especially meant for existing trademark owners within the adult entertainment
industry. As members of the adult sponsored community, trademark holders, who got
their trademarks registered prior to September 1, 2011, can apply for .XXX domain
names in this period. In a scenario, where there is more than one application for
a domain name, the domain name will be referred to an auction for biding among applicants.
Net4 will be rolling out Sunrise-AD services to its clients in near future.

Sunrise-AD

Sunrise-AD period is for users who own an adult domain that was registered before
February 1, 2010. During this phase, members who offer online adult entertainment
services under a recognized domain name can apply for .XXX domain names. Members
who already own a domain under a different TLD can go ahead and apply for .XXX domain.
The .XXX domain will act as a seal of trust for adult websites. For example if you
currently own www.mywebsite.com and you would like to apply for www.mywebsite.xxx,
then you should apply in this phase. Multiple applications for a single domain will
be resolved through an auction among the applicants. Net4 will shortly be launching
Sunrise-AD services to its clients.

- Current domain name: The existing domain that you wish to register as a .XXX
- Registration Date: The date you registered your existing domain
- Domain Ownership: Your relation to the current domain name: Owner or Assignee.

Sunrise-B

Sunrise-B period is especially aimed at registered trademark owners, who are not
members of the Adult Sponsored Community. Trademark owners, who registered their
trademarks before September 1, 2011, can protect their brands from being registered
as .XXX domains by applying in this period. Trademark owners outside the adult sponsored
community will be able to protect their brand from .XXX registration by blocking
their domains. The mechanism ensures that the registered trademark does not get
linked with the Adult Industry for a minimum period of 10 years.
In the event of duplicate requests being received, Sunrise-A applications will get
priority over Sunrise-B requests.
- The process will prevent any third-party from registering a trademarked name as
.XXX domain.
- The one-time payment blocks the trademark use for 10 years.

The fee is non-refundable and cannot be reversed.
- As this is not domain registration,
a user need not provide a website or its content.

The Landrush phase is due to start once the Sunrise stage has been successfully
completed. In this phase, all members of the adult sponsored community can apply
for this high-value domain name.
If you currently do not have a trademark or adult domain, then this phase is your
first chance to get a .XXX domain name. In case of more than one Landrush application
received for a same domain name, the domain goes to an auction and the applicants
need to bid for the domain.
For example, if you are a member of the adult community and you are aiming to launch
a related website, this phase is most suitable for you.

The General Availability period, which is slated to start from December 6, 2011,
permits you to buy and register .XXX domains instantly. This period is open for
general public to apply for .XXX domain.
During this period all the remaining .XXX domain names will be allotted to applicants
on a first-come-first-served basis.
Members of the adult sponsored community, who are seeking to host a new website,
may apply for this adult industry dedicated TLD in this period. A member must first
become a member of the sponsored community. The member ID is only needed if you
are planning to post content on your .XXX domain.
Pre-registration process
- Submit your domain for pre-registration.
- Wait for an authentication email from the ICM Registry that will be sent within
next 1 day of your domain request.
- Click the link in the email to complete the process online and get your Member ID.
Applicants, who are not members of the adult sponsored community and basically want
to block their domains from being registered as .XXX, can also apply in this period.
This kind of defensive registration will reserve or block the domain from registration
by any other third-party.
